The Gratitude Game | Printable Praise Report

Wednesday, January 31, 2018

As someone who functions mostly using the creative and emotional parts of my brain, organization has always been something I craved for, but was never quite a strength of mine.

I love lists, except that I usually end up with scraps of paper lying everywhere (and then never being able to find the darn list when I need it).

This past month, one of the biggest things I've been working on is just getting things intentionally organized. I know perfect organization will always be that elusive unicorn but the keywords in this year's process are : 'intentional' and 'try'.

Part of that process has involved building a custom planner suited to my needs and the way I think. I knew what I wanted and store bought planners just weren't cutting it out for me. So with a little inspiration from Pinterest, I ended up designing some of my own pages.

While scouring Pinterest, I remembered Eliza Ellis - a planner designer I came across last year whose designs I absolutely loved but did not use back then. This year, her free printable Irma collection was perfect for my needs.

Her aesthetic and eye felt very close to my own designs and I loved how her pages fit seamlessly into the planner that I was building. I ended up using her annual calendar which I'll link to below. I am honestly super thankful for creative artists like her who give so generously.

soooooo pretty!

While designing pages, one of the things I decided I wanted was a praise report page. Gratitude is one of the habits I intend on working on this year and honestly, just doing January's praise report has blown me away.

I realize I forget so much the good things that happens (both the big and small) and doing something like a praise report requires me to set aside time to intentionally recall all the good things. Today is the last day of January and this morning as I was filling in my praise report page, I was left in awe by how much I could see God's goodness just permeating through in every situation.

Gratitude changes perspective. And perspective is changing everything for this girl here right now.

If this is something you would like, I'm including a download to my January praise report page in this post. I hope it will be so useful to all of you!

It comes in a default A4 size, but you can adjust your printer to print it smaller or bigger. Although I think the best sizes are in A4 or A5.

*personal use only, please*

Some of my favourite features are :

1. Challenges, Lessons / Perspective

I feel it's important when practicing gratitude to not feel like we have to brush away or ignore the hard things that have happened. The key thing instead is to ask the Lord to change our perspective and understand there are probably lessons in the hard stuff we need to learn.

2. Gratitude prayer

I would fill in this part after going through the milestones, celebrations, challenges, and lessons / perspective parts. To praise God for all He has done, what a victorious way to end a month!

3. Word of the month

This was something I added in after printing my original design. I ended up spontaneously summing up my month with a word and felt it was something I would like to do for the rest of the year, at the end of each month.

4. Verse at the bottom of the page

The verse serves as an encouragement and just a reminder of God's promises over my life (and yours!).

If you do use this page, let me know. I would love to know how this little exercise went for you. I'll also be designing the rest of the pages for all the months and will share that once that it's done.
